We Were One, I Hope We Will Always Be...

Assalamualaikum wbt...

Dulu mmg malas blaja sejarah. Ruginya. Dulu blaja sejarah sbb nk lulus, puas mengapal. Ibrah x amik. Tapi mcm x ingat ada blaja peistiwa ni. Adakah aku pelajar sejarah yg amat teruk??? (Tapi lulusla gak)... Tengok2.

(Dokumentari bagus dgn soundtrack cool.)

I Want To Protect...

Assalamualaikum wbt and hye...

"Ill protect you no matter what."
"There's someone i need to protect."

Memang bersemangat waja.

Gambar hiasan : Saber dr Fate/Stay Night

Slalunye org nak protect org yg disayangi, negara, bangsa, agama, ect. And sy nk specific sket, kali ni, nk protect org yg kite syg.

Kalu dah dijadikan syarahnya, panjanglah pulak bab lindung-melindungi ni. Tapi sy just nk ckp sket je sbb lps ni nk sambung study endo...

Baru2 ni, chatting ngan abah. Abah citer pasal adik2. Tetiba plak kua topik camne adventurenye abah bermain di hutan masa kecik2. (A=Abah, M=saya)

M: alaaa...zaman dulu kan mainannye hutan sume

A : tu lah...... x sanggup abah nak biarkan masuk tempat macam tu ........... jumpa memacam..... banyak yang 'mengancam nyawa' sebenarnya!!
M: mengancam nyawa?
A : la ... kalau go hutan ... jumpa ular ... tapak rimau.... kena kejar anjing.... jatih bukit..... gi sehari x makan minum ,,,,, minum air parit je..... nasib baik oerut dulu .... kalau sekarang kerasunan.
(*perut, keracunan)
M: kalau buat citer adventure mesti laku. kalah mcguyver
(atau citer ipin upin the adventure???)
A : tapi masa berubah... awak me jelajah dunia cara lain.....
dulu utan tu lah dunia kome/
(internet, study abroad dll)
M: tapikan abah,muni tgk budak mude malaysia banyak yg dah ngarutla
susah hati jugak
rasa macam lebih selamat main di hutan
(bimbang pasal adik2)
A : back to the basic....... kalau masa kecik kita tak tanam nilai Islam..... si ayah pun x jaga betul salah ........... how can their anak didik can evaluate what is right and wrong .... more exact adhere to the 'panduan'.
kalau tiang dah kukuh,,,,,, campak kat mana pun tau jaga diri.
(coolnye Abah...)

Erm, the essence is, kalau kita tgk x kiralah kat Malaysia atau dimana2 jer. Terlalu banyak pengaruh yang scary2. Benda2 jahiliyyah. Remaja kuat buang masa ber"sibai"2 kat tepi2 jalan, "meyuapkan" badan dengan racun2, dating2 pegang2, buat aksi2 mengancam nyawa kat "medan perang" (jalan raya), x solat, sekularisme, mcm2 la. Rasa sangatlah scary. Bila melihat Malaysia dr "birds eyes view", barulah nampak banyak realiti yang menyesakkan tekak.

Kadang2 rasa macam nk jadi seekor burung, terbang ke rumah. Nak lindungi adik2. Nak letak mereka dibawah lembayung sayap sy. Kadang2 nk bawak mereka lari ke Dublin. The world, is a scary place.

But, the world, is the place we live in. And we cannot just run camtu. Bila kawasan kita sendiri ada sumthing we need to change, ade cabaran, rasanya kalau lari mcm lari dr battlefield plak. (haha...ape sy ngarut ni???)

But then Abah reminded me that...the most important and effective way, is not to shield the kids from the world. But to shield their hearts from the dirtyness of it. Didikan... biar takkan lentur walau apa yg akan lalu di hadapan mata. I realised, that we cant monitor the one we love 24/7. Sedang hati sendiri pun x terjaga. We cant follow em everywhere, we cant tie them at home. But we can give the best protection, cam firewall. Kalau abah takut, I wont be here studying medicine.

But abah was confident with me. My life, my decision, my choice... I have it all. Alhamdulillah. And Im confident dgn protection yg Abah n ibu kasi, yg Allah kasi. Selain didikan, ada doa. Dan nasihat. But, kene ada juga monitoring... Layang2 yang terbang tinggi, kalau tak bertali...entah kemana akan pergi.

Hrm, teringat masa kecik, dirotan abah, dinasihat ibu. Aki marah dan nenek ajar. Ditengking mak sedare, digelakkan paman. Masa kecik, sumenya tu rasa pahit. Tapi sekarang, rasa bagaikan rindu dimarah dan dirotan mcm dulu. Ape yg abah n ibu dah buat, insyaAllah sy akan cuba buat yg terbaik utk intan payung saya juga. (",)

So, lindungilah org tersayang kamu. Dr bahaya fizikal, dan paling penting bahaya fikiran dan rohani. Dari bahayanya neraka. Itu erti syg sbnarnye.

"O you who believe! Ward off yourselves and your families against a Fire [Hell] whose fuel is men and stones, over which are [appointed] angels stern [and] severe, who diobey not, [from executing] the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they commanded." (Quran, At-Tahrim:6)

[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Sleep

Assalamualaikum wbt n hye...

Exams can greatly disrupt your sleeping pattern. Especially when ur one of the procrastinator. hehe... Good slap in the face for me. But who knows, as much as I promise not do do it last minute, it just happen every sem since Im here. Or did it started in Taylors? But as much as I remember, I was better during my school days. So dear me...remember ur days of glory and try your best next time,ok!

"Baik!"

Verily, its a shame for those who cant make today better than yesterday and tomorrow better than today.

Oh, back to sleep. (pun very much intended, Im sleep deprived!)
The following is another advice from Imam Al-Bukhari.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleventh Counsel
Sleep
My dear son,
If mere knowledge is sufficient for you and you do not need any work other than this knowledge, then the call [of Allah], " Is there anyone supplicating? Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness? Is there anyone who wants to repent?" would have been useless. It was narrated that a group of Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) mentioned 'Abdallah Ibn 'Umar to the Messenger of Allah s.a.w and he said: "An excellent man, if only he would pray at night."
The Messenger of Allah s.a.w said to one of his Companions:
"O [so and so] do not sleep too long in the night, for much sleep makes one impoverished on the Day of the Judgement."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why cant we sleep our lives out at night? If we don't sleep, then what should we do???
Recite and refer the translation and tafsir of Surah al-Muzammil.

[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] The Grave

Assalamualaikum wbt n hye....

Without further ado... I present the advice from Imam Ghazali.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tenth Counsel
The Grave
My Dear Son,
Plant resolution in your spirit, and place defeat in your lower self and death in your physical body. For your true destination is the grave and the people of the grave are awaiting for you at every moment. Take care, beware lest you arrive without provision for the journey.
Abu Bakr As-Siddiq has said:
"These bodies are like cages of those of birds, or like stables of animals; so consider yourself of which you are. If you are of the heavenly bird, when you hear the roll [of the drum] : 'Return to your Lord', you will fly upwards until you reach the highest towers of Paradise."
As messenger of Allah said:
"The throne of the Compassionate shook at the death of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh."
May Allah save you if you are as one of these animals, as Allah the Exalted says:
"They are like cattle, nay more misguided." (Quran, 7:179).
So do not consider yourself safe from the removal of your security of your home to the fire of Hell.
It was narrated that Hassan al-Basri r.a was given a drink of cold water. He took the glass whereupon it fell from his hands and he fell unconscious. When he regained consciousness he was asked: "What is the matter, O Abu Sa'id?" He said: "I remembered the desire of the inmates of Hell when they say to the people of Paradise: Give us some of the water or some of the provisions that Allah has granted you (Quran, 7:50)."
p/s- Im coming up with a series of sketches called "Visualisation". Its gonna be another series like this Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib. InsyaAllah (",)v
1st Battle of The Sem
Assalamualaikum wbt and hye...
Im still kinda breathless from cycling.
View Larger Map
Its kinda scary coz there's loads of cars on the road and its dark. We really should wear helmet next time. And add more reflectives on ourselves. Even in Islam we are supposed to value our life and health. Eg: No alcohol coz its bad, will lead to cirrhosis tau! To take care of ourself is like taking care of the machine we use in factory. Machine goes boom, factory will have no output.
Just now I have Chinese Ab Initio exams. Xiexie Zhao Yan Laoshi!!! I have a blast using Chinese character in my "letter". (Sound cam best but my essay really just macam tadika nyer level tau)
And to mark the end of our class...here is pics of my Chinese class classmates.
My Chinese Class Classmates
From left: Stuart (i dunno the spellin), Laoshi, Intan, Nazirah, Charles
Suraya, Liyana, me, Hazirah (not in pic, Juan,Naomi and Kevin
Gonna miss this class.
Okay, 5 papers to go. Mahu bermujahadah. Jia You!!!
"As distance test a horse's strength, so does time reveal a person's real character."
[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Action
Assalamualaikum wbt and hye...
My examinations are commencing tomorrow. (Yup,this is typed in between xm preparations.) Tomorrow will be my Chinese Ab Initio written exam. I really hope that Allah will bless our mujahadah and help us along His way...
Okay, time for another advice from Imam Ghazali.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ninth Counsel

Action

My dear son,

Knowledge without action is insanity, and action without knowledge is vanity. Know that knowledge today will not distance you from sins, nor bring you into obedience, nor distance you fromthe fire of Hell tomorrow. If you do not act today and do not derive lessons from your past days, you will say on the Last Day: "Return us to our previous life and we will do good deeds, " and it will be said to you: "O fool, it is from there that you have come."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, act before its too late.
"Never confuse movement with action."
(Ernest Hemingway)
"Speech is conveniently located midway between thought and action, where it often substitutes for both."
(John Andrew Holmes)
"We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action."
(Frank Tibolt)
"The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation through choice of action."
(John Dewey)
[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Hypocrisy
Assalamualaikum wbt ...
After few ngarut posts, we'll continue with another advice from Imam Ghazali to his students. (And for us too,of course)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eight Counsel

Hypocrasy

My Dear Son,

So what have you gained from learning sholastic theology, medicine, administration, poetry, prosody, astronomy, syntax and morphology except to waste your time against the will of the Lord of Majesty.

I saw in the Gospel of Isa a.s that he said:
"From the moment a corpse is placed on the funeral bed until it is placed at the edge of the grave, Allah by His greatness will ask him forty questions. The first of which is: 'O My servant, have you purified [yourself in] the sight of mankind for years and not for one hour have you purified [yourself] for Me.' Everyday He looks into your hearts and says: 'What are you doing for other creatures though you are surrounded by My kindness? Are so you deaf that you cannot hear?'"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its not wrong to study loads, but for whom?
For whom???
~The XM Rojak~
Assalamualaikum wbt n hye...
A fren said, "herm, ur posts have become more ####(Its not swear word but I forget the exact word,maybe to the same effect as "emo") lately."
Hahaha, I admit. This exam daze gave me bit spin in the head, jd x bape betul sket. It seems, this blog has been the channel to let it flow. I did mention in my old blog that when Im stressed out, Ill lebih rajin wat post. (ni je tmpt nk meluahkan perasaan aaa..)
So bear with me. (ni bukan paksaan, ngehehe).This post wont be too educational too.
I think this is the period when I need loads of support. So its nice that I have a good Video conference with my family. I call this session, "Beast's Magic Mirror." Coz I can have a lil mirror where I can peek to my own house. And yeah, my heart condition is like Beauty's (bukan prasan lawa tau!), Im missing home like never b4. Been getting dreams with "Balik Malaysia" theme. Lawak plak. Macam boleh wat buku bersiri. (buleh kaya!)
Eg:
  • Woke up in grandma's house.
  • Have Malaysia tour with family.
  • G kenduri kawin.
  • Naik flight ngan mak.
  • Jumpe atuk2 sedare.
Many more-lah. Siap dlm satu tu, sampai tanya Abah, "erm, ni hujung minggu. Isnin kelas, dah kene balik Dublin."(sedih la tu) Pastu "Abah" jwb, Rabu ni boleh balik."
Tapi x pe, kene kuat dlm perjuangan! Ya, Allah, please strengthen my will on your path.Aminn...
Apart from that, there are few nice things that happen.
  • I just know that my bro usually is online on YM. Dunno why all this time he appeared "invi". So helpline is always on.
  • A gud fren I havent tegur in a while tegur. Tetiba rasa happy. He support me with Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib posts. Insya-Allah Ill keep em going.
  • This sweet post by my GF.
  • The food my housemates cook this week are really nice. Alhamdulillah. I thought the quality will go down becoz of xm mode but everybody cooks like...er...great cooks.
  • The formation of Soya Bean Gurl Band. Illbe DJ, Intan bass drummer,Liyana kompang, Saadah vocal n Illani manager. Our first song will be, "Ketik Ketik Ketik". Ngihihi...(ni la akibat tensen study)
But one of my fren is currently not feeling well. And its near exam. Its been days. So, lets pray so she can be sabar tru this test and may she get well soon. Al-Fatihah...
ok, my recess is over. Back to neuroscience!!!
Ill Stand For You
Assalamualaikum wbt...
I wish I was stronger. I wish Im not too "spongy". If its like Peter Petrelli in Heroes Ill be super cool. But absorbing people's feeling aint that cool. Its lame...
The prob is I absorb but not emit. Thus I look like this cold kinda person (yeah, cold not cool). Its hard to have loads of things going on inside you when others cant detect it. And when you think nobody notice, then desperately want ppl to listen. Then you show too much. Then you jadi poyo. Ngahaha...
Or the other route, u just blow and malfunction for a certain period. So unproductive.
Events told me,
1. Be strong, dont run away.
2. Even if you blow, dont run away.
3. When you see something happening, dont run away.
4. If u have something inside , first, sabar,ingat Allah, maybe it will fade away. Then, consult the right person. If you keep it and you blow, its your fault. If you keep it and suffer, its ur fault. If you find the wrong person, well, sorry for you.
5. Try ur best not to make the one you love suffer.
6. Try your best to stand for the one you care.
7. Learn to trust.
8. If you have a surge of strong feelings. Anger, sadness... dont make any move until u are sane. This avoid loads of trouble, regrets and embarrassments. Remember, impulses only work in MCQ exams settings. Ngahaha
9. A tribulation is tarbiyah, we should grow over it, not stuck in it.
10. Well, life will teach you who love you and who deserve yours. Cheewah!
A fren told me, "I cant imagine u in a fight". Yeah, Im dont fight. I think I never fight, except in standard 4 or 5, with a jerk. Well, that boy was a jerk and so was I. And I was at wrong. And I ran away, I think. Minus the with my siblings. But thats not fighting. Thats love.
Well, I dont know...if the time ever come. ngahaha... i dun think so.
I told a fren, "to see you stood for another is beautiful and impressive. I hope I can do that too." And she said,"I would stand for u if you, but you havent give me reasons to do so."
I thought, sadly, Im not good enuff a frend to get her fighting for me. Then i shud try hard to give her a reason. (be a better fren, things like that..)
At last I understand... what she mean by reasons. I dont know if I want to wish for that day to come...Its a mixed feelings. But what I truly wish that Allah will bless our friendship.
(ok enuff o rambling,I need to study. This is, after all, my powerful feelings.I may regret this post, ngahaha!)
So, zaijian!!!!
Persahabatan itu indah
Assalamualaikum wbt...
Tetiba terasa rindu. Pada yang jauh,pada yg dekat. Ya,pada yg dekat juga.
Persahabatan itu indah, kadang2 terkejut dgn how it goes, how we eventually fall deeper, how we eventually love each other instead of just hanging around because we have fo face each other. (ayat org)
Persahabatan itu indah, how we hurt each other because we care too much. How i cant seem to mind even when your every other words hurts me... coz i knew u meant good.
Persahabatan itu indah, how we share and how we conceal. How much we do...coz of each other.
Persahanatan itu indah, when we all matures together. And we pray for each other.
Persahabatan itu indah, when its because of Allah...
In the end,the reason our path intersect is because Allah have bigger plans for us.And for meeting you all, Im greatful.
Tentang persahabatan lagi.
[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Death
[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Intention
Assalamualaikum wbt...
Exam daze is in the air right now. Sometimes its choking to think that the examination is coming in less than a week. But hey, if dont you realise, that exam is going on everyday? Verily, this life IS the examination. Allah evaluate us. Every minutes, every second.Ho! Every action, every thought, every feelings in your heart. And every intention.....
Now its time for another counsel from Imam Al-Ghazali.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sixth Counsel

Intention

Dear beloved son,

How many nights have you remained awake seeking knowledge and reading books, forbidding yourself the pleasure of sleep? I do not know for what purpose [you did this]. If it was for attaining worldly benefits and securing its vanities, its status and position and asserting your superiorities over your peers and brothers, then woe to you and again woe; but if your purpose is to revive the Shariah of the Prophet s.a.w and to train your character,and break the nafs al-ammara [the soul commanding to evil], then blessed are you and again blessed.

The poet spoke truly when he said:
"To spend the night awake and weeping for other than Allah is a foolish waste."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So dear brothers and sisters in Islam, why do you stay up tonight??? Think about it.
Allahumma Najihna fi'l Imtihan, fi'd Dunya wa'l Akhirah.
Bi't Taufiq wa'n Najah! InsyaAllah...
[Ayyuha'l Walad Al-Muhib] Evaluation
Assalamualaikum wbt....
Time for the next Counsel by Imam Al-Ghazali. For those who just join us, please read the intro first so this will be more coherent.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fifth Counsel

Evaluation

My Dear Son....

He who does not work shall have no rewards. It is reported that a man from Bani Isra'il worshipped Allah the Exalted for 70 years. Allah intended to test him before the angels, so He sent him an angel to tell him that he did not merit Paradise even with this worship.When the angel informed him of this the worshipper replied: " We are created for worship and we can but worship Him. " The angel returned saying: " O my God, you know best what he said." Allah the Exalted said: "Since he did not turn away from worshipping Us, then with grace We shall not turn away from him. O my angels, bear witness that I have forgiven him."

The Messenger of Allah s.a.w said:
"Evaluate your works before you are asked to account for them. Weight your works before you are evaluated."

Ali r.a said:
"Those who think they can achieve their aims without work are dreaming, and those who think they will attain he goals through exertion alone are over-confident and consider themselves self-sufficient."

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"Seeking and demanding Paradise without actions is a sin from amongst sins."
He also said:
"The sign of [attaining] reality is in giving up regard for work,not in giving up the work."

The Messenger of Allah s.a.w said:
"The wise man is he who judge himself and works for what is after death, and the fool is he who persue his desires and [vainly] longs for Allah the Exalted."
